1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using MedExcel, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of MedExcel, including free and premium subscribers.
2. Description of Service
MedExcel is an AI-powered study platform designed to help medical students create flashcards and practice questions from their study materials. The app generates educational content using artificial intelligence and is intended for study purposes only.
3. Medical Disclaimer
Content generated by MedExcel is AI-generated and intended solely for educational and study purposes. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Always consult qualified medical professionals for clinical decisions. MedExcel is not liable for any clinical decisions made based on content generated by the app. AI-generated content may contain errors and should always be verified against authoritative medical sources.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must be at least 16 years old to use MedExcel. You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use another user's account
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
- Provide false information during registration
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Paid plans are processed via Paystack. All payments are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) or your local currency equivalent. Key terms:
- Premium plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. Your selected payment method will be automatically charged at the start of each billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose) until you cancel
- You may cancel at any time from the Account settings inside the app, or by contacting support. Cancelling stops the next renewal — your premium access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for
- We do not offer refunds for partially used billing periods, including periods during which you did not actively use the service
- If a renewal payment fails, your account is automatically downgraded to the free plan until payment is successfully retried
- We may change subscription pricing with at least 14 days' advance notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal — you can cancel before then if you do not agree
- Plan limits (generations per day, question count) apply per the plan active during each billing period
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload copyrighted material you do not have the right to use
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the app
- Use automated tools or bots to interact with the service
- Upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Use the service for any commercial purpose without written permission
7. Intellectual Property
MedExcel, its design, code, and branding are owned by MedExcel. You retain ownership of the study materials you upload. By uploading content, you grant MedExcel a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your uploads solely to provide the quiz generation service. This licence ends when you delete your account.
8. Limitation of Liability
MedExcel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or error-free. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to any claim.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of MedExcel after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
